Madras, Oregon. (7/9/2021) – Gentle Dental, a full service dental provider with 160 locations nationwide, has opened this newest location in partnership with Capitol Dental Care to extend access to Oregon Health Plan members in the rural area of Madras in Jefferson County, Oregon and to assist in achieving total integrated health through our first Integrated Expanded Practice Dental Hygienist (I-EPDH) practice.
Gentle Dental Madras is located at 212 SW 4th Street, inside the historic Harriman building, which is the tallest building in Madras. We are across the street from the Texaco on the corner of 4th and D streets.
As part of Gentle Dental’s robust network of affiliated practices, patients will have access to a range of dental services including preventative care and restorative care. Our fully digital office is completely renovated and we are ready to serve the community.
Gentle Dental, along with our primary care provider, Kim Perlot, EPDH (Expanded Practice Dental Hygienist) is bringing an innovative model of care delivery to the community that achieves the Quadruple Aim: improves the health of our members, provides a better member experience, reduces the cost of care, and increases care-team satisfaction.
The I-EPDH is at the center of the patient’s dental home and functions as a primary care provider for preventative dental and oral health services; while off-site dentists perform tele-dentistry services to complete examinations and on-site dentists focus on providing surgical interventions and complex procedures and spend time engaging with the patient and taking care of their needs.
Dr Manu Chaudhry, President and Dental Director of Capitol Dental Care, sums up the I-EPDH practice “By focusing on prevention, we can save more people from acquiring dental disease. This has many amazing health implications, not only for each patient’s body, but also for that person’s health equity for the rest of their life. Working alongside our I-EPDH program will be General Dentists Dr. Jennifer Montgomery, who will be in office one day per week. Dr. Montgomery also currently practices at our Bend, Oregon location. Dr. Veronica Mathews will be available for tele-dentistry services.
Kim Perlot received her EPDH education at Oregon Institute of Technology. Jennifer Montgomery, D.M.D. received her under graduate degree at Portland State University and her D.M.D. credentials at Oregon Health and Science University School of Dentistry. Veronica Matthews, D.D.S., M.A. received her undergraduate degree in bio-chemistry at the University of Otago in New Zealand and her D.D.S. at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and finally her M.A. in Education at Wake Forest University.
