Affectionately dubbed \u201cThe Biggest Little City in the World,\u201d <\/span>Reno<\/span><\/a> is known for bright lights and big bets. That said, there’s much more to the city than casinos. With museums, art galleries, great shopping, skiing and outdoor recreation, Reno is a popular destination for couples and families. Here are some great ways to spend your time in Reno.<\/span><\/p>\n

1. Lake Tahoe<\/span><\/h5>\n

Although it is actually about 40 miles outside of Reno, Lake Tahoe is definitely one of the city’s main draws. Known for being one of the most beautiful places in the U.S., this tourist hotspot attracts countless visitors due to its bright blue waters, scenic mountain views and endless outdoor recreation.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Mount Rose Ski Resort<\/span><\/h5>\n

Just 20 miles from downtown Reno, this mountain paradise offers pristine slopes filled with fluffy powder for skiers of all levels of experience. It’s also a great place to get away from it all, even if you aren’t much of a skier. <\/span><\/p>\n

3. Eldorado<\/span><\/h5>\n

One of Reno’s most famous casinos, this gambling hotspot offers an inviting period charm that sets it apart from other venues. Test your luck with a variety of table games, along with slots, video poker and keno. <\/span><\/p>\n

4. Aces Ballpark<\/span><\/h5>\n

Watch the minor league Reno Aces go deep against future big league talent at this scenic ballpark. Enjoy inspiring views of the towering mountains, while sipping a cold beer and snacking on some freshly-made concessions. <\/span><\/p>\n

5. Riverwalk<\/span><\/h5>\n

Winding its way along the Truckee River, this downtown attraction offers plenty of activities and cultural fascinations. Enjoy local art galleries, fine dining restaurants, guided tours, along with great shopping at brand-name stores and little-known boutiques. <\/span><\/p>\n

6. Nevada Museum of Art<\/span><\/h5>\n

Opened in 1931, this public museum houses both static and rotating exhibitions, along with lovely sculpture gardens. Explore a nice collection of photographs, paintings and drawings by local residents and nationally-known artists.<\/span><\/p>\n

7. National Automobile Museum<\/span><\/h5>\n

With over 200 items on display, this unique museum gives fascinating insight into how transportation has evolved over time. See old fashioned carriages, racing cars and celebrity vehicles, such as the car driven by James Dean in the famous film “Rebel without a Cause.”<\/span><\/p>\n

8. Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum<\/span><\/h5>\n

Discover a wide range of fascinating, interactive exhibits, dedicated to math, technology, science, engineering and art. A great place for kids, this popular family attraction makes learning fun.<\/span><\/p>\n
