1. The San Mateo Japanese Garden

Designed by Nagao Sakurai of the Imperial Palace of Tokyo, this gorgeous garden includes a granite pagoda, koi pond, tea house and bamboo grove.

2. Coyote Point

Edging the bayside area of San Mateo, Coyote Point offers picnic tables, five waterfront walking trails and great beach access for various water sports.

3. Cur Odyssey

Tucked within Coyote Point, this interactive science and wildlife center showcases fascinating exhibits, events, activities and local wildlife, including owls, foxes and river otters.

4. Sawyer Camp Trail

Located in the San Andreas Fault rift valley, this popular six-mile trail is a breathtaking sanctuary for cyclists, roller bladders, joggers and casual outdoor enthusiasts.

5. Seal Point Park

This scenic haven includes a three-acre dog park, along with several pathways for cycling, walking and bird watching.

6. Burlingame Museum of Pez Memorabilia

Opened in 1995, this fun museum showcases a vast diversity of distinctive Pez dispensers, along with unique toys from past generations.

7. Pulgas Water Temple

This engineering marvel includes a beautiful reflecting pool and offers great views of the lush Crystal Springs wilderness.
