The Gentle Dental Northgate is conveniently located in the Northgate shopping center at the southwest corner of Rossanley Drive and Court Street. We are next to Chipotle and in the same shopping center as Trader Joe’s.
We’re open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. We accept almost all major dental insurance plans, and we offer Gentle Dental Smile Plan that allows uninsured patients to receive discounted services. With a variety of ways to pay for dental procedures, including zero-down payment plans, we’ll ensure you get the dental attention you need.
In addition to general family dentistry, we also offer orthodontics,,. Beyond biannual cleanings, checkups, and routine dentistry, we’ll inform you about oral hygiene so you can maintain healthy teeth and gums between visits.

ABOUT ME
Dr. Avey encourages his patients to be involved in their treatment in order to achieve the best results possible, and is always open to questions and is attentive to each patient’s needs.
He feels that building a foundation of trust by treating his patients as special individuals is vital. He understands how uneasy some patients may feel about their dental visits, and how he can make a difference in providing a relaxing and positive experience.
After graduating from Creighton University, Dr. Avey received his Dental Degree from the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Petersen says, “Orthodontics is about more than just straightening teeth. It is about building confidence, self-esteem, oral health and enabling people to get the most out of their lives!”
After graduating from the University of Utah, Dr. Petersen received his Dental Degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. He’s a member of the American Orthodontic Organization, the Umpqua Dental Society and the American Dental Association.
Dr. Petersen realizes that the orthodontic profession is rapidly adapting, and is proud to stay ahead of the curve by attending orthodontic conferences, networking with orthodontists nationally, and allotting time each week to the continued study of the latest orthodontic research.
Dr. Petersen says, “My wife Katherine and son Jack are excited to live in this wonderful part of Oregon and are active participants in the community. In my free time I can be found snowboarding in the winter, and hiking, biking, and fishing in Oregon’s beautiful outdoors in the summer!”

Mr. Holden says, “In my free time I enjoy hiking, snowboarding and mountain biking. I love spending time with my wife and three kids doing just about anything together!”

About Me
Dr. Teel feels the most rewarding part of being an Orthodontist is watching the transition a patient makes during treatment–not only the physical change from having a beautiful new smile, but the greater feeling of esteem and confidence that it brings them. His friendly, accessible personality makes patients feel comfortable exploring questions about the details of their treatment.
Dr. Teel received his undergraduate degree in Zoology from Brigham Young University before attending the State University of New York At Buffalo School of Dentistry. After receiving his D.D.S. he continued his studies at OHSU and received his certification in Orthodontics. Dr. Teel a member of the American Society of Orthodontists, the Oregon Dental Association and the American Dental Association.
Away from the office Dr Teel enjoys woodworking, audio recording and video editing. He and his wife Cynthia enjoy home projects together and catching up with their SchnauzerPoo Daisy Mae.

About Me
Dr. Henrie says, “Dentistry is a great opportunity to help people feel better about themselves and get them out of pain. A healthy mouth improves your overall heath and wellness in so many ways. I enjoy many long–term relationships with patients. My goal is to provide them with a lifetime of healthy smiles.”
After graduating from Brigham Young University, Dr. Henrie received his dental degree from the University of Kentucky School of Dentistry. He has received Oral Surgery training from the University of Texas at Houston and additional training beyond dental school in sedation, wisdom tooth extraction, and dental implant placement.He also speaks Spanish.
He says, “In my free time I enjoy anything outdoors with my wife and five kids: camping, hiking, wake boarding, snow boarding, fishing, soccer. I am a former Eagle Scout and have been a boy scout master for longer than 15 years.”
