The Northpointe Gentle Dental is conveniently located at the corner of 164th Street S.W. and Alderwood Mall Parkway, near Fred Meyer.
We offer flexible hours for your convenience, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, and we accept most insurance plans. For those without dental insurance, we offer a Gentle Dental Smile Plan that provides low-cost preventive and diagnostic care, as well as discounts of 20 percent or more on most dental treatments. We also have flexible payment plans and financing available as needed.
Our friendly team of dental professionals is eager to put a smile on your face by providing sincere and compassionate care. We offer gentle, personalized family dentistry for patients of all ages, including infants, children, and teens. About Me
A Pacific Northwest native, Dr. Chan attended the University of Washington earning Bachelor’s of Science degree in Neurobiology an and a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Biochemistry. His strong interest in science led him to the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, a top 10 ranked dental school where he graduated cum laude a Doctorate in Dental Surgery.
His passion for science education and understanding the link between oral health and overall well-being highlights his holistic approach to dentistry. Dr. Chan’s emphasis on patient comfort and education, along with his continuous pursuit of advanced skills through continuing education, sets him apart as a compassionate and knowledgeable practitioner. His belief in the importance of listening to patients’ concerns and desires while providing thorough information demonstrates his patient-centered approach.
Outside of dentistry, his commitment to fitness through hiking and biking and community engagement further enriches his character. Dr. Chan is not just about achieving professional success but also about making a positive impact on people’s lives.

Dr. Aravind Buddula’s father, a pediatric surgeon, served as his initial inspiration and played a key role in shaping his career. He loves treating his patients and giving them the gentle care they need for great oral health. Delivering periodontal services at multiple Gentle Dental offices throughout the Seattle region, he brings a wide range of knowledge and experience to each patient’s care.
His love for his profession is reflected in his achievements. While studying Dentistry at a top dental school in his home country of India, Dr. Buddula received an award from the International College of Dentists for achieving the highest marks in Prosthodontics. He furthered his education with a Masters of Dental Surgery in Periodontics from the College of Dental Surgery in Manipal, India. He went on to pursue a Certificate in Public Health at the Oklahoma University of Health Sciences in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He then attained his D.M.D degree at Tufts School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Buddula made the Dean’s Honor Roll for his exemplary performance on the National Dental Board examination, and was selected by the world-renowned Mayo Clinic to complete his Fellowship in Periodontology and Masters in Biomedical Sciences. His work there earned him the Dental Student Award for outstanding achievements from the American Academy of Periodontology. Especially interested in implant surgery, he has multiple articles on this topic in international, peer-reviewed journals, and his papers have been accepted for presentations at various national and international conferences. He is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology and American Dental Association.
Recognizing that patient care and understanding are the essence of any health profession, Dr.Buddula has genuine love and concern for his patients. This fact was acknowledged when he was placed among the best periodontists in patient care at the Mayo Clinic, based exclusively upon the positive patient feedback he received.
In his spare time, Dr.Buddula enjoys watching movies and playing cricket. He is fluent in English, Telugu and Hindi.

About Me
Dr. Kha Nguyen, DDS, MDS, is a dedicated orthodontist serving patients at multiple locations, including GD Redmond, GD Kent Station, GD Fairwood, GD Northpointe, and GD Marysville. Fluent in Vietnamese, Dr. Nguyen is committed to providing exceptional dental care with a personalized touch.
Dr. Nguyen completed her undergraduate studies in Biology at the University of Washington in 2017 before graduating from the University of Washington Dental School in 2021. She furthered her education with a specialization in Orthodontics, graduating in 2024 from the same institution.
A recipient of various accolades, including the UW Orthodontics Annual Wire Sculpture Contest (2021) and induction into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, Dr. Nguyen’s passion for dentistry lies in its meticulous artistry and the opportunity to build long-term relationships with her patients.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Dr. Nguyen enjoys outdoor activities such as snowboarding, hiking, and camping, and cherishes time spent with her two British Longhair cats, May and Yam.
Driven by a desire for cultural exchange, Dr. Nguyen dedicates time to learning Spanish through online courses and volunteers to teach Vietnamese to school-aged children. She values connecting with her patients on a deeper level and is committed to making a positive impact in their lives, both in and out of the dental office. With her expertise and compassionate approach, patients can trust Dr. Kha Nguyen for a comfortable and effective orthodontic experience.

About Me
Dr. Amini’s philosophy is to provide outstanding care while working with his patients to establish a comprehensive treatment plan. As a Board Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon he appreciates his role in providing pain relief to his patients through often complex surgical procedures. He believes strongly in communicating with his dental colleagues to coordinate optimal care for his patients.
Dr. Amini has a special interest in dental implants, bone grafting, and wisdom teeth extractions. He received his D.D.S. from Tehran University and practiced as a general dentist in Iran for four years. After moving to America, he graduated from the Boston University School of Dental Medicine and was awarded his D.M.D. Dr. Amini then pursued his passion for surgery at Drexel University where he later received his M.D. Upon completion of a two year General Surgery residency, he continued his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency training at Allegheny General Hospital.
After fourteen years of post-graduate training, Dr. Amini moved to Washington State to practice the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He’s a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons among many others. Away from his practice, Dr. Amini enjoys skiing, tennis, and relaxing with his family.

ABOUT ME
Dr. Xu (Sue) Qian is a Board-Certified orthodontist and a Diplomate of American Board of Orthodontics. She earned her DDS and completed her orthodontic residency with a MS at West China School of Dentistry, Sichuan University. Then she completed a PhD in Oral Health Sciences at School of Dentistry, University of Michigan. She completed her second residency with a specialty certificate in Orthodontics at UCLA School of Dentistry.
Dr. Qian has started practicing orthodontics since 2008. She is highly experienced in orthodontic practicing, teaching, and research. She was a full-time faculty teaching orthodontic residents and treating patients at Tufts University, Boston before relocating to Seattle with her husband who is a software engineer and their two young kids. Currently, in addition to practicing orthodontics, she continues remote teaching the orthodontic residents as a clinical associate professor. Dr. Qian provides treatment with both braces and clear aligners. She is a credentialed Invisalign provider.
Dr. Qian decided to become an orthodontist when she was in middle school because of the awesome experience she had with her orthodontist. She is ecstatic to provide the same memorable experiences for all her patients and maybe inspire them to join the field as well! Dr. Qian says, “I love working together with my patients to provide them with an optimal individualized treatment. Creating beautiful, healthy and confident smiles for my patients means everything to me.”
Away from the office, Dr. Qian enjoys hiking, cooking and spending time with her family.
