Arthritis affects countless people who suffer debilitating symptoms that seriously disrupt the quality of their lives. Recently, the Gentle Dental Vancouver Admin/Support team participated in an important charity event designed to support research for this all-too-common ailment.
Dubbed the 2019 Walk to Cure Arthritis, this annual event took place Saturday, June 22nd at Esther Short Park. Bringing members of the community together, the walk has become the world’s largest arthritis gathering, raising invaluable funds for resources, research and a cure.
Twenty-five percent of all Americans have arthritis, making it the country’s leading cause of disability. To the surprise of many, more than 60 percent of arthritis sufferers are younger than 65, including 300,000 children. Painful and debilitating arthritis is a life-long condition; however, events like the 2019 Walk are helping to fund scientific discoveries that bring us closer to a cure.
