The Waianae Gentle Dental is conveniently located at the junction of Farrington Highway and Ala Poko Street, just north of Leeward Community College and Waianae Mall.
We strive to offer high-quality, affordable dentistry, so we accept most dental insurance plans. We also offer our clients the option to pay reduced prices through a Gentle Dental Smile Plan that lowers the cost of nearly all procedures by 20 percent or more, and we also offer payment plans. We’re open Tuesday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. most days, but appointments can be scheduled as late as 6 p.m. on Wednesdays.

The Gentle Dental Smile Plan is perfect if you don’t have dental insurance and offers significant savings. The plan has no waiting period, involves no paperwork, and covers all pre-existing conditions.
You can enroll as an individual, couple or family and receive significant discounts on preventative services including exams, cleanings, fluoride treatments, and x-rays, as well as a host of other dental services. All other services including specialty care such as extractions, root canals, and orthodontics are discounted 20% from our list prices.
The Smile Plan is effective immediately and there are no claim forms to fill out and no maximums. Seniors 62 and older receive additional discounts on enrollment fees and parents can keep children on their family plan until age 26.

Dr. Tenjoma is an expert in the restoration and replacement of teeth. He makes smiles look beautiful and function the way they should. He says, “As a Prosthodontist, I enjoy solving complex dental problems that no one else can–I am here to restore your smile!” He feels that building a foundation of trust by treating his patients as special individuals is vital. He encourages his patients to be involved in their treatment in order to achieve the best results possible, and is always open to questions and is attentive to each patient’s needs.
After graduating from the University of Hawaii, Dr. Tenjoma received his Dental Degree from the University of Washington School of Dentistry. He continued his post graduate work there and was awarded his M.S.D. He’s a member of the American Dental Association and the Hawaiian Dental Association. He also speaks Japanese.
Away from the office, Dr. Tenjoma enjoys fishing and is into geeky electronics. He loved to cook to relax.

When asked what attracted Dr. Lee to dentistry, she responded “I grew up watching my dad donate his services as a dental technician to patients with disability. I saw how his work can directly impact one’s quality of life and happiness. I wanted to follow his steps and support the community with my career. That’s how I was drawn to dentistry.”
After graduating from Rutgers University with a Major in Chemistry, Dr. Lee attended dental school at New York University and received her Certification in Orthodontics with a Master of Dental Science from the University of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Lee says “One day, my patient hugged me and said, “Dr. Lee thank you. I can smile in front of my family and friends now.” Changing one’s smile can drastically improve both oral function and confidence. The joy I see in my patients energizes me to work harder and better everyday. It’s truly a gratifying career”.
In her free time, she likes to play the piano and sing. She finds herself often passing the time reading self-help books. She also enjoys snowboarding and playing tennis.
