Dentures & Partials

If you are living with missing teeth, or teeth that are so badly damaged that they cannot be easily repaired, dentures may be an option for you. Modern dentures are comfortable, natural looking, and allow you to enjoy the foods you love while also being confident about your appearance.

What is the difference between complete and partial dentures?

There are both complete and partial removable dentures. Complete dentures replace all the teeth in either the upper or lower arch. Partial removable dentures replace some, but not all of the teeth in the upper or lower arch.

What is the process for getting dentures?

If you are interested in getting dentures or a partial, you’ll begin the process by having a consultation with your dentist. In some cases, there may be alternatives to dentures and partials, including efforts to save the tooth, such as a root canal, using veneers to cover damaged teeth, or, if a tooth cannot be saved, using a bridge or dental implants.

Should you and your dentist decide that dentures are in your best interest, the denture fabrication process begins with taking impressions of your remaining teeth and gums and then requires several appointments for fittings before the final delivery of the finished dentures. Adjustments are generally needed after that as well, to assure comfort and proper chewing efficiency.
